AJ Chambers are currently recruiting for an experienced, IT literate, Payroll Manager with first class interpersonal skills to join our clients' Accountancy Practice at their friendly office based in Barnet, Hertfordshire.
The successful applicant will be well educated and articulate, with strong knowledge of UK PAYE compliance and recent experience of managing a portfolio of clients and/or staff. Bureau (multiple payroll) experience is essential.
The salary offered is in the region of £40,000 to £45,000 (dependent on experience), plus attractive benefits and learning opportunities.
Job Description
Main duties of the role will include;
· End to end payroll processing on Sage - weekly, fortnightly, monthly, 4-weekly, quarterly and annually - providing clients with payslips and relevant information for around 200 clients
· Managing and delegating work to junior payroll staff as well as liaising with an outsourcing company for payroll support
· Setting up auto-enrolment schemes and submitting details to pension providers
· Calculating apprenticeship levy
· Provide banks with autopay information
· Advise HMRC when no payment is due
· Resolve any PAYE/CIS queries raised by HMRC
· Process and submit monthly CIS returns, issue tax deduction slips,
· End of year procedures - P35, P60's, P11D's and Section 336 Claims
· Calculate redundancy pay
· Calculation of SMP and SSP
· Advise clients of changes to payroll legislation/personal allowances when necessary
· Set-up new schemes with HMRC as and when required
· Provide general payroll advice when required
